Has anyone had any luck with Canadian Tire in lowering the interest rates on the card? I've heard that in general, it's worth a try to call any credit card company and ask...

Never gave it a try. Probably sometimes this month.

Perhaps if you call to cancel and qualify to be transfered to retention, you *might* get something.

You mean the CT Mastercard? Then yes. I have their low rate option card. 10.9% I think. $25 per year. The only other difference compared to the regular card is CT money is only earned at purchases made in store.
