Gotta laugh at the descriptions:

"Infrawave Speed Cooking Oven - cooks with invisible infrared waves" - i.e., it's a toaster oven, just like every other toaster oven.

"Digital Convection Oven" - "auto settings for toast, bake, pizza and broil" - i.e., it's a toaster oven with a fan.

I just went to CT and they told me they think the Black & Decker Infrawave Oven has been recalled so they can't sell it. Anyone else have this experience?

I bought the Black & Decker food processor last nite for 89.99 which is on sale for 39.99 today. I knew it but wanted to ensure I have it so that I don't get into an OOS situation... of course I'll take my receipt to get the price adjusted tonite.

The box seems to be retaped on that too but they told me that they don't sell returns in the store...

Speaking of recalls... the 24v Yardworks cordless grass trimmer was recalled due to a defective battery charger. Some of them overheated and caught fire apparently! There's a 1-800 number you're supposed to call, but I don't have it with me ATM. Contact your local CT store if you bought one of these.

That's total BS... they even put damaged returned products back on the shelf!

Update: I phoned CT and they told me they made a mistake, there is no recall on the B&D oven; the recall is for "the $39 one", whichever one that is.

I went back to the same CT store after being told they had 7 of the B&D ovens in stock. But when I got there, there is only one on the shelf in a beat-up, retaped box. (Sure looked like a returned item to me!) I asked if there were any more available and the CT person said no, they "couldn't find" the rest of their stock, and walked away. So, 2 trips to CT and no oven for me.
