[Canadian Tire] iRobot Roomba 860 on clearance for $399

The iRobot 860 is on clearance for $399 at multiple Canadian Tire stores around the country. Some stores are currently listing $499, but they seem to drop to $399 after a week.

If you're going to go into the store or use the pay and pickup option, it only seems to work if it tells you the location they're stocked at (Customer service desk, Aisle 70, etc). If it just says it is in the store but no location, it seems to mean they're sold out and the stock just hasn't updated yet.

This is the cheapest I've seen this model for -- it dropped down to $499 at Costco back in June, and are still retailing for 699 at other retailers. The only difference between the 860 and the 880 is the colour and 880 has more accessories (remote, 2 lighthouses instead of a virtual wall and some brushes). These are being phased out by the 890/895, which is basically the 880 but with wifi support instead of a remote.

I noticed that many stores also have other robotic vacuums on clearance. I've seen the 650 on clearance for $349, as well as some deep discounts on Bissel and Hoover robotic vacuums.

Reviews say that the Xiaomi is cheaper and just as good if not better than the Roomba.

No comparison between the 800 series Roomba and the Xiaomi.

Maintenance is non-existent with the new 800 series rollers. Other robots are annoying since you want to detangle hair with a knife every week or so.

It is because most of people still don't trust a vacuum robot. All of my close friends still think why spend on a vacuum that does not have as much power but is as pricy as a Dyson.

Got it at costco back in June and will try to get this one today/tomorrow - just waiting for ready for pick up email to arrive. Going to see if I can return the other one to Costco.

We have been using it every few days for almost 2 months and have been impressed.

Thanks OP!

if you have non-carpet flooring, you dont need a powerful vacuum.
