I bought about 20 jugs of the 0w-40 during the anniversary sale. $31 for oil is still really good. Mercedes fill their factory cars with mobil's 0w-40 so that's an indication of the quality of oil you are getting. Thanks OP.

Wow 20 jugs. I bought 2 jugs then lol

Is there a shelf life for oil? Mobil says 5 years for synthetic and others say no expiry.

Yeah it's 5 years. We have two cars and we drive quite often so 20 jugs will be okay.

Oil change interval for this oil is 20,000 kms and 15,000 for AMG. You actually save money by buying this oil. Keep in mind you need a high mileage oil filter.

$31 for 20,000 kms is better than $20 every 5,000 kms for the non euro formula depending on how much oil your engine needs. Usually between 4-6 liters for most vehicles.

If you totaled your car, would you buy the same make /model /year, to make use of the filters and possibly oil? Face Screaming In Fear
Good question and I believe so, as I only stocked up on 5w30 synthetic, 6 S2000 filters for my summer cars and 4 Mobil extended performance filter for the Explorer.

Walmart had these same jugs on sale for $25 last year around Christmas. I bought 4 jugs. I hope they do the same again, and I'll grab some more.

What does that really do for ppl who could use oil now though and missed the sale? By your logic, only deals that are the lowest sale price ever should be posted, there wouldn't be much activity in the forum.
Maybe you just want to contribute to a thread but don't know how? Maybe you just want to see a post from yourself, I dunno.

Thanks op, bought two
yes but that is the redflagdeals culture
trust me I've been here 10 years+ and it's affected me. that way so much so psychologically if I don't get the lowest price ever + coupon + loophole I feel bad. it also makes me very cheap and frugal.

Having said this I NEED oil now so I'll get jug or two for my oil changes over the next few months.
Regards,

I don't know where you live, but is the time spent and additional weight you have to carry in your car from USA to back home worth the $5 savings per jug? At most, USA uses 5L jugs and not 4.4L. For me, they can take my $5 lol.
I am sure he aint going to US to get oil as a primary reason. I am pretty sure your gas will not cost $5 more if you carry an extra 600ml of oil. If you buy 10 jugs, you are saving $50 ... for most cars, you can fill your tank for $50 bucks and do toronto to buffalo round trip no problem.

For those in the know (and with a US address -- even a PO Box will work if you sign up for street address delivery), 5-quart Mobil 1 has been at $11 after $10 rebate regularly via Wallyworld. I look at the Canadian regular price and laugh.

Current US rebate: https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions
Isn't it a [relatively] long drive to the US from Calgary though? Like nearly 3hrs, no? Anyway I know Mobil 1 is always like $20-24 at US Walmarts but with the dollar as of the last couple years it's not really that much of a deal. But at $11 now that's a different story.

Curious though you state $10 rebate but the link shows a $12 rebate?

They're 5 quart which is 4.73L. Also "the additional weight"? Are you kidding? LOL. What are you some kind of hypermiler?

I buy my oil filters by the carton. I currently have about 20 filters in my garage sitting in the shelf.

At one point I had 3 cars (Japanese but different makes) that ran the same aftermarket filter. Only made sense to buy it by the carton.

Castrol by 50cents. lol.
Lol, add in your time and gas spent to return it to buy the Mobil1; I say you're good with the Castrol.
