Canadian Tire Price Match Policy

I just want to have it in my arsenal when I do Price match at CT. A lot of times they give me troubles because they don't know their own policy. So I always have a copy I printed (from RFD.) I want to get an original one.
Thanks,
Maj
Canadian Tire has their Price Match Policy on a huge sign at the refund area.
The young punk at the automotive area didn't know anything about any policy and didn't honor it. I had to go to the customer service desk to get it.
Best Buy sold the same GPS system for 199.99. CT had it for 299.99. They price matched plus the gave me 10% of 199.99 in CT "money" ($20). You must bring proof such as a flyer.

Wow... this is an old post from a while ago...
Yeah it depends on who you get. Last night, I was in BB getting a 8GB scandisk USB storage stick PM.

I was really surprised how easy it was. Sometimes when you want to get something PM is like waging a war. They give you BS and you end up arguing with the person behind the counter. I think the best one I had was from Futureshop, they said they don't do PM after 5pm....
But last night when I went to Bestbuy, no probs at all. They looked at the Walmart flyer I brang and said sure that's an awesome deal. Here you go...
A positive story for Bestbuy, +1 for them.
Cheers,
Maj

I found their official policy regarding TIRES on their website last week (which is the same as for every other product however this explicitly refers to tires) and started a thread for that (originally in hot deals because I was referring to the great price I was able to get on Altimax Arctic tires I got but now it's been moved here):

Canadian Tire Offers Price Protection As Well
I know this is a pretty old thread, but still relevant. The price match is as others have said. However also worth noting is that they offer Price Protection as well. If you buy something there (pretty much anything so far as I can tell) and that item goes on sale within 30 days after you buy it, you can take your receipt to Customer Service and they will refund you the difference. But no 10% bonus. I don't believe the item actually has to be in stock when you claim your refund, just at that price. I received back over $100 on a gas BBQ a few years ago.
Chest Waders will be going on sale (at our store in Barrie at least) on April 26, half price. I enquired today, and their price guarantee is good for 30 days. So now I have them, doesn't matter if it goes out of stock by the sale, and I can take in the receipt for the refund when the sale starts.
Another nice thing about Canadian Tire is that they have no objection to looking something up to see if a sale is scheduled for that product. Despite them being raked over the coals recently by Marketplace for poor customer service, I have always found their customer service very good.
Alex.

Problem is inconsistency. Your location seems to be managed a customer-friendly way, but other locations are just terrible. And don't try to call CT head office for help or complaints...
I did some price matches on the Catrol GTX 4.4L oil they have in this week's flyer, and one location gave somewhat of a hard time because it was a web printout and didn't have a "sale start and end date". I explained it's a regular price, not a special, and the timestamp from the printer was there to prove it was just printed so not an old price. That was sufficient and the proceeded.
The other store (because the first only had 5W30 and I also wanted 10W30) was a lot more confused/demanding. They said it HAD to be a flyer, not a printout. I had to argue about that. Then, they made me fill out a form (like the one they make you fill when you return stuff) with my Name, Address, Ph Number, Signature. I found that extreme for a price match (and that never happened at any other CT store) and then they didn't give me my 10% CT money, I had to insist, then they had to cancel the whole transaction and start all over. They also insisted I had to pay CASH to get the 10% CT. I told them no, I'm using a gift card. It took me a good 20 minutes to buy my 2 jugs. Funny enough, customers that were stuck in line were encouraging me and saying they'll start doing that (PM) too
The 10% off ENTIRE price makes CT PM a good deal. But the hassle some of the stores make you go through is a deterrent. I won't stop doing it though
