Canadian Tire: Sylvannia Silverstar's $7 MIR
Canadian Tire currently has a $7 MIR off a pair ($3.50 each) off Sylvannia Silverstar bulbs.
Not a bad deal considering even at $50~ a pair; they never go on sale in Canada.
Offer ends June 30, 2005; for some reason the rebate isn't on store shelfs.

its true, they don't last very long. however, the warranty does work with canadian tire. i have a pair of silver stars and they both burnt out before the year was up and all i did was just bring them in with the receipt. so yeah, just make sure u keep the receipt and they'll honor it.
ps. oh yeah, these are good alternatives to the regualr bulbs since the're pure white and street legal

I troll many car forums and most silverstars never last more than 1 year.
And it's not as white as most people think/would like. They are brighter than OEM tho, that may the cause of short life.
After trying a pair, I won't go back.

I love mine; they make highway driving at night way better. I've got over 14 months on them so far.

I find cars that use them as Daytime running lights, they burn out alot faster.
Cars that have sep DRL than the lowbeam, they last longer.
Or better yet cars without DRL, or disable the DRLs. Even better

Mine was burnt out within a year. I call the silver star 1800 phone number and they ship me back a pair. The other side is working well but I am starting to worry after I read the forum

The short life-span isn't a random defect of the bulb. Even the makers of the bulb say that you shouldn't expect more than a year's life out of them.

So how do they compare to all those "HID" like ones plastered all over ebay?
