"No Throttling Guaranteed
As a licensed Internet Service provider, registered with the CRTC, we are following the CRTC ruling for ITMP. Currently we are not implementing any ITMP in our network for any applications at any time. For any customers in Great Toronto area, if feel internet is throttled in peak hour, can report issue direct to our escalation team info@cannettel.com, we will send a Can-net Technician to bring a laptop to verify. if slow speed or any application throttling is proved by Can-net, we will give 100$ bonus as special award."
Looks like a grade 5 student wrote that.

My son-in-law is currently with start dot ca but is considering Cannet DSL because of the lower monthly fee. Is the $39.98/month rate guaranteed not to increase as long as he is a Cannet customer?

when I first wanted to sign up, they never came on the scheduled install date and then after calling them they said on my order number that I didn't pay even though I did... and then when I tried to pay they said they couldn't give me the plan because I'm paying too much with my current provider (WTF?), so i'll try again later i guess...

so yeah, i didn't even sign up yet and my impressions of their indian customer support are not good.

Yeah since you're switching from FTTN or their competitor, you can get the free modem rental for two years.

Yea I do. Started out kinda rocky, but haven't had any problems since. Call centre is in India so can be a little frustrating with the language barrier at times. But a pretty small price to pay for the internet. If you're looking for a company with all the glitz and glamz go with a bigger ISP but if you want unlimited internet for cheap hit them up.

Price should not change for two years.
After two years the price will be $59.99 + $5 modem rental.
Of course nobody will pay that. There is a lot of time in front and things will change.

I use Cannet and I have no complaints.

It works at the advertised speed at all times of the day, and there doesn't appear to be any throttling with torrents. If I had a gripe, it's that the Cisco wireless router/modem they ship with constantly drops the 5ghz band, requiring me to manually reconnect.

I suppose the issue can be readily remedied by just purchasing a proper wireless router, but considering the Cisco is billed as doubling as a router (as well as a modem) I would want it to just function properly .

For the price though, it cannot be beat.
