I'm using Cannet 100m now, can I downgrade it and save $5? I don't really need 100m speed.

Been using Cannet for almost 4 months with no issues. Usually get consistently 60 mbps but lowest I've seen is about 25 mbps during peak hours. Solid though, much better than TekSavvy where I'd have downtime for hours to days without any help even though I was paying about $12 more.

Edit : Absolute trash, do not ever use them.

Literally just signed up for Rogers 150u for $69.95. I don't think it's worth the cost to switch now :(

I think you have a 14 day grace period to cancel if you actually just signed up.

I would consider this but I already have a cable modem, so I'd be paying $40/mo. plus tax.

Forced rental is not a good deal for me, since I understand that my Thomson 476 modem can handle these speeds.

Isn't cannet the one that throttles?

Not throttle, apparently congestion issue in some areas.

The blog post is vague as it states you can purchase modem on 100M and no install fee?

$39.98 (All Ontario Rogers land) 100M Cable internet(100m down, 10m up) (FREE installation with $99 modem purchase.)
$39.98 (All Ontario Rogers land) 100M Cable internet(100m down, 10m up) (Free installation after rebate, with $5 wired or $7 wireless modem rental extra. )

I called to inquire about this, as I currently have Rogers TV and Fido home internet. When I installed Fido internet it was a simple self-install process by plugging the modem into the existing Rogers TV cable running through the house. So I was surprised to hear the Cannet rep tell me they need to send a technician to install a NEW cable line into the house for Cannet internet cable. Seems like a lot of trouble for something i might just try for a few months. He did mention it is possible to do a switch of the current line but didn't guarantee the Rogers TV would still work as normal.

Is this common procedure with all these 3rd party providers? (Cannet/Carrytel/etc?)

Do they need to come in for installation or just a switch of the modem? Since it's cable, you loose Rogers immediately once you switch? Do we need to give Rogers 30 days notice for cancelling?

I have the same questions.

Also, from the website, it looks like these are only good for 2 years, and then price goes up to $60/m?

⬆ Cable allows more than one service to be run at the same time.

No new line needed unless the existing line wont support the service. Tech is required to confirm signal is good on the line for all tpia third party accounts. Cable lines allow phone internet and cable on the same line.

No BYOD kills the deal (compare with carrytel)
It's basically add $5 on top of their advertised price.
