Canon G1X Mark III?

Has anyone tried Canon G1X Mark III?
f/2.8-5.6 is a little disappointing, but the camera seems like a great travel/daily camera.

Check out the studio scene test at DPReview. The camera takes great photos and it's larger sensor provides noticeably better, lower noise image quality than it's one inch sensor competitors.

price is up there too $1599???, and I want 4K if I spend that much. Photo quality looks good in the samples....can't beat a APSC sensor.

Canon always seems to hold back a little though.....just seems a bit shy of being a truly great compact camera.

I'd also want to see the rumored LX200 before I buy a camera in this class
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and not paying full price like Joe Shmoe did. This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

It would be a great camera at this price only if the lens is better like f/2-4

Check this out on Youtube OP.
I'm glad TCSTV did that video comparing with a 1 inch sensor camera with F1.8-2.8 and it confirms pretty much what I had in mind. I think Sony RX100 V is still the king in compact cameras category. Specially that it also cost significantly less than the GX1 Mk III.
