You're not talking about a USB cable, are you? If so it must have been a LONG time since your previous printer purchase. Almost everywhere will try to sell you an overpriced cable when you buy a new printer.

Strangely while it had a standard USB-USB connector area that never worked ("recognized") and I'm relatively tech savvy. So I had to use a type B USB connector to hook it up.

And not too long ago, I'd say maybe a year. Then again, the printer was on sale so maybe tack on another year from its original production.

The MX860 is $99.99 in the Staples flyer right now. It's OOS online but if you try instore, they might have it. There's was 4 in the downtown store in Calgary on Monday.

Stuples website is complete garbage. Maybe I'll check the store quickly but they were probably all gone boxing day.

How much difference is the MX330 and MX 320, the MX 320 is $49.99 on staples now (BD sale), and HP J4580 is $59.99 at staples (BD sale).

MX330 has the 1.8" preview LCD screen. Otherwise looks pretty much the same to me.
