Canon Powershot A1000IS 10MP Digital Camera $149 @ SDM
I think this is a very warm if not hot deal. (Did a quick search and didn't see this posted anywhere.)
The Canon Powershot A1000IS is selling for ~$180 at most places (Aden has it for $160). This week, Shoppers Drugmart have it for $149. You also get a $20 Cara Foods giftcard.

From my research, this is a very decent basic function camera. Highly rated on Amazon and Canon websites.

Got one same price from SDM couple weeks ago at the bonus redemption event. Good camera, similar features but much better pictures that my old SD600. The 4x optical zoom is handy. It uses 2 AA batteries. My only complain is it takes 2 to 3 seconds for the flash to recharge each time.

Got one with the redemption too, haven't tried it yet. It was a much hotter deal with the 2 weeks 15X points then the gc. Its a good example of how very hot using the points at SDM can be.

I have bigger brother of this camera (A2000IS) and my only complain is that the screen turns black when flash is recharging (no, its not faulty)
It's quite annoying when you give camera to someone to take a picture, and then the person looks confused when he wants to take the second picture with flash immediately after first flash, and the screen is black while it's recharging.
Really good camera though.
Really love Image Orientation censor...cause I hate manually turning each photo on PC that was taken vertically. The camera does it for me

Also, there are more SDM's around than Mostly Digitals (London Ontario?) How much is shipping from Mostly Digital?

How much was the camera during the redemption event? Same price? If so, I'll wait for the next redemption event; I've got no use for the food card.
Thanks for any input.

Wicked. My mom wants to pick one of these up for her god-daughter in Europe. We were going to go to Best Buy, but SDM is even closer.

It was $150 for the 2 week 15X photolab that had the $200 redemption weekend too. it was in the flyer at the start of that with store receiving stock. That is shown as "sale" reg $180, so one would expect that price to be $180 some weeks.
There was a $200 redemption in May last year, then july, 2 in sept, and nov. They promos have been tracking pretty close to the same as last year.
i believe SDm only carries purple. It a muted purple, doesn't even look purple in some light, but purple nonetheless if that is important for some.

Three SDMs in my area were OOS, so I ended up taking the flyer to BB and pricematching for $146.99.
Thanks OP,
