You did a good summary on Aspire.
This card is good to consider, since it contains almost full benefits than purchasing it indivdually.
on the Capital one web page, they did not mention clearly How to redeem and the scale used.
did you get any answers for the questions below.
what if I spent $200 and want to redeem 15,000 points for $150 off? Can I do that?]
[Can I group expenses spent within XX days of redemption to maximize the redemption opportunity?]

Aspire World
here is the link for Aspire Gold thenIs it worth it?
If you charge more than $2,000 a month on your credit card, it might be worth paying the annual fee for a higher earn rate. If you charge less, check out the Aspire Gold MasterCard that has no annual fee.

Just talked to them. So the answer is: you can't redeem 15000 miles for $150 off. For the spend between $150 and $350, you will have to use 35000 miles.

Fine, I think to get the max return, I'll only redeem for spend over $600.
Also, for $1.99 purchase, you'll get 2.0 miles, not 3.98 miles.

Thx, for the searched
then Aspire MC is not so interesting...
then TD Travel Visa is still better than this one...at least getting a Fixed 1.5% rate of return.

Gold is a fail, only a 1% return, why bother, especially since you only have to spend $2k a year to avg. a 1% with Aspire World, due to the bonus $100 in rewards it offers per year which can be set against the $120 fee. If you can't spend $2k a year, then you shouldn't be getting a travel card, because you won't ever accrue enough points to go anywhere.
The free suppl. are nice, since a lot of premium flight cards charge $50+ fee for those.
I know we have a flight chart, but the travel cards really only worth considering are this one, avion, and spg.

I see, so the return you make is quite variable. If you find a flight for $160, you will have to redeem 35,000 points. With TD FC, the return you make is at least stable, guaranteed, known in advance. Prices for airline tickets can vary wildly. Can you redeem for hotels? It might be easier to estimate, at $100 or $150 per night on a hotel, it may be easier to properly time your purchase to get a good return.

I have Capital One Platinum card for many years and I called to upgrade it to Capital One Aspire World MasterCard they said I can't upgrade it. Any new card from Capital One requires new application and new hard credit inquiry. I already had two hard credit inquiries this year and do not plan to have another one so soon.

Is your card the Miles Plus card? If so, can you answer a question about redeeming? If you booked $200 for air, $200 for hotel, and $200 for car as separate transactions, can you redeem 60,000 points at once to pay for them or would you need to redeem 35,000 points 3 times to pay for each of the $200 transactions individually?

I think this might be better than the SPG Amex for me. Kicker is the fact that it is a Mastercard so I can use it when I am stuck buying crap from Tim Hortons.
Also did anyone notice the Purchase Assurance (protection from damage or theft) on this card is 120 days, not the typical 90? Nice little bonus...
