Car Auctions in Toronto/GTA

A co-worker of mine was telling a few of us that she bought her car at this car auction for like $200 and that they had a great prices. She said they had a 98 Teg for $3500 and it was fully loaded.

So I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any car auction places in the GTA?

It was probably a beater and she'll have to spend another $500-1500 to fix/repair and certify the car for road use.

These auctions are attended by used car dealers so you'll have to bid against them. If the dealers can't make a lot of $$$ of re-selling the car, they won't bid any higher.

Generally the cars being auctioned off are either police/customs seizures, impounded cars that haven't been claimed after X days (30+ days...yes the impound place have the right to auction off your car after 30 days and only want the impound fee), insurance write-offs, etc...

Most of the cars will be banged up or missing some things. The cars that are intact will go for a premium. But if you are looking for an older car (8+ years) you could probably get one in the $500-1,500 range)

There are a few auto auctions in the Keele/Wilson area and some in Mississauga. Do a search...there are many in the GTA and across Canada.

OP was looking for GTA.. this one is a bit of a drive north of the city.

Thanks for the link; however, its a bit to far for me to go to. Eventhough I'm on the road all the time, its still out of my reach.
