It will probably be too low to lift your cuv's. But either way even if you had a regular car I would still suggest you get a floor jack with a wider base to lessen the potential of tipping.

I have seen that one on special so many times and I would never buy that thing. It looks way to cheap.

i have this one in red - http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motom ... TvjOpM9ZrY
There is also this one - http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motom ... TvjPZM9ZrY

You can find a lot more here to - http://www.princessauto.com/en/b/worksh ... n/N-197eqx

Your going to be under the car, dont cheap out! Also you will need jack stands.

You're right!

So a 3 ton is ideal?

No need to get under the suv. Both your cars might be better off with a mitvac for the oil change part.. at least that's how the MB dealers do it.

3ton would be ideal since it can lift bigger vans/trucks without a problem & it can easily lift a lighter one. In this case I think its money well spent buying a more heavy duty jack if you plan on being under the car or doing other work just so that its a bit safer & also jack stands will be needed if you plan on going under the car.

Why don't you just bring it a mechanic for them to do the oil change? You're gonna need a filter wrench for each of the car and I don't think you will save much money after buying all the supplies.

You are better off trying to look for a good deal on oil instead as that's the bulk of the cost with the amount of oil those cars take.

I don't know if its included with you spare tire kit, but if you want to change tires too you will need a lug bolt guide to help put your wheel back on.
