Car making noise when accelerating? what could it be?

Hello all, i have a 2001 nissan sentra, and when i accelerate the car makes noise, definetely like a roaring noise, like the faster i accelerate and harder i push my gas the louder it is. But when i release the pedal, the noise stops right away.

Other than that the car is fine, idle rpm is fine, no vibrating steering wheel, passed emissions, oil change every 5 months, brakes are solid, no engine lighhts are on etc...

My uncle said the noise is from the exhaust, aunt said its prolly the muffller. So idk what it could be, im taking it to a mechanic next few weeks cause i live out of town and i dont have time at the moment. Any ideas will be appreciated

Instead of second guessing ,go for a Throttle service at a reputed place. They should be able to tell you where exactly the problem lies.

Could be a few things, my guess it's exhaust related, but until it gets looked at, it's all guesswork.

Has the car been modified? Sounds like a "performance exhaust"

But what did your cousins say?
Did the neighbours say anything?
What about the mailman?
The cops?
