Hopefully you all start reporting amazing feedback and those with probs have things cleared up.

My install is on Thursday, so either way all your feedback is helpful in giving the larger picture in service quality.

Kinda suspected this would happen. Happened when I switched from rogers to teksavvy too.
Just had my install done a few hours ago. Tech just sat outside and called me. I plugged in the modem, he sat around for 10 mins and told me it should be up in 30. After 30mins I just power cycled the modem and my router and all is well. Speeds are as advertised 87-100mbps on fast and speed test. Happy with the service so far, I'll see how the internet is during peak hours.

When I had it install back in Jan. Tech waited until I finished running speedtest before leaving! ;)

Usenet is great, steady 12MB/s. The past few days, it's 11.5MB/s during peaks, which is amazing. I don't game nor torrent. My main usage is usenet and it has been awesome so far (since January.)

Currently not gaming myself as my young kids take up too much of my time now that I don't have the leisure time no more. Besides, it's probably time to retire my PS3 and upgrade to the PS4. That said, I will be gaming in the future (maybe by the end of this year).

So my only concern at this time (other than the ping/lag) is as long as Netflix works. I am concerned about Android but I still got cable tv so not an issue at the moment. Is this a US vs CAN IP address issue?

The weird thing is, they always give me the same IP. But
- at the beginning, most sites tell me I'm from Washington DC. one site said I'm from Toronto.
- now most sites say I'm from Toronto. one says I'm from Ottawa and one still claimed I'm from Washington, DC.

This is one way to screw third party ISP.

Initially, Speedof.me had dl of 45 Mbps and uploads of 10 Mbps.
10 minutes later dl of 13 Mbps and uploads of 3.57 Mbps.
Now its 63 Mbps and 4 Mbps.
Does not look good for my voip.
Exodus on Kodi works with and without VPN.

I have a US ip address. Would a Canadian ip help with my low speeds?
With Fido 60/10 plan, I always get dl of 85 MBps and uploads of over 10 Mbps.
I really need voip to work cause my wife works from home and is on conference calls all day.
Havent' cancelled my Fido yet, but free trial is over already.
Reboot modem and wait one or two days, if it doesn't resolve, call or email Carrytel.

I am from Montreal according to every sites but I am in London, Ontario. Anyway, downloading from Thundernews usenet at around 46-51mbps, I am with their 50/10 FTTN.

It has been 6 hours now since installation. Here is my opinion:

1) Speed wise I have no issues. Everything works. Like I said before, if you are looking for basic internet this service should suffice. Basic internet = surfing, youtube, decent speed, unlimited data, etc.

2) With Android box (TX5), I have issues. Exodus/Phoenix can't load any sources. It says 'no streams available'. So I think it is blocking and not even throttling! When I use my other active service (Teksavvy), my Android box has no issues. Everything works. So I don't know if other ppl are using some sort of bypassing techniques (vpn) for Carrytel Cable Service to make Kodi work, but I should be able to use a service without any restrictions. I like to have a 'plug and play experience'!
Update: About 1 hour ago, Exodus/Phoenix streams started working! Hmm...Now I am confused. Let's see what happens in this trial period.

I do use Voip but hardly make calls so can't comment on quality too much, but I do recall there lag sometimes. . I have carrytel coming in the next hour. Will post the results from that one after for comparision.

Just power cycled and it's working now. Thanks for the info.

I'm only getting around 47/7 right now. Will keep testing to see how it goes.

This is mostly for cable modem. Even with a non-defective modem you'll get a 1-2 second lag during voip calls.

If you're using this for VOIP i'd recommend going FTTN/DSL instead.

Are you with carrytel?

My install date is coming up this Friday, if Kodi addons dont work Im cancelling right away.

Just to get some more info before hand - Anyone have any experience with cancelling with them? Are they easy to cancel or is there a fight?

I got it installed this afternoon as well. At around 3 pm, the speed is as advertised over wired connection. Over the Wifi (laptop and another PC), I'm getting around 60 Mbps/download. Right now, I'm only getting 20.3 Mbps/download, it doesn't seem right.

All speeds tests should be confirmed with on a wired connection. I have confirmed that during peak hours I am still pulling 100mbs on fast.com and 87mbs on speedtest.net

I will try again over wired during peak hours. Just curious though, what kind of speeds are you getting over Wifi?
