Catholic Confirmation: What to wear?

I’m a invited guest to a catholic confirmation, what’s proper attire for a male? Would khakis, a collared button down shirt (untucked) and dress shoes be “proper”? Example below ( minus the pin rolling and shoes.)

That would be .... OK but just meeting minimum standard.
I would suggest slacks and collared shirt no jacket needed.

Think what people wear to church on Sunday.
Although I’ve seen all sorts of people with Hawaiian shirt shorts and flip flops so I may be out of touch with what’s appropriate.

If in doubt, wear a suit.

No, not that.
If you don't have a suit, wear dress pants and a nice dress shirt.

Lol, based on what I've seen at Catholic churches, slacks, button downs and dress shoes would make you ridiculously overdressed.

It would be ok.
But I suggest to wear suit, if you don't have one then go with dress pant and shirt.

Many churches and parishes tend to have a website and if there is an expected dress code for church services (regular Sundays), the code will be posted there to help guide your minimum dress standard. You would not want to be the person who crosses paths with a priest who is a stickler for rules in church with attire that does not conform (happens in different Christian denominations too unless relaxed dress is the norm)-there could be a public rebuke.

Sorry I forgot to update this thread ! I ended up going with the outfit pictures ( with dress shoes and dress pants. I felt overdressed lol. Most males came in shorts/polo or dress pants and a button up. Quite a few people came in jeans... females were mainly in dresses ( from skimpy to full length ). For anyone asking themselves this question in the future, my answer is to wear what you’re comfortable in.

It's better to be overdressed than underdressed.
