Catleap 27" Monitor Can't Connect To Laptop
Hey guys,
I just purchased a Catleap 27" Dual DVI model and went to hook it up to my laptop. I am using an HDMI to Dual DVI adapter running from my laptop to the Catleap. I have tried 3 different laptops. Two keeps saying "Unable to save display settings", but the other laptop allows me to apply the changes, but the catleap doesn't project an image. It's still black.
What do I have to do to get this to work? I don't have a desktop handy until next week to test it out.
What are my options? This is the adapter I'm using. http://canadacomputers.com/product_i...item_id=040210

Random question, but does your laptop's card support the Catleap's resolution? Some lower end laptops only supposed up to like 1080p sometimes so might be worth it to check depending on what manufacturer it is (Intel, Nvidia or AMD).

You need a dual link dvi cable and a capable graphic card.

I have a HP DV6 with a Radeon 6620. I even tried lowering the recommended resolution on the laptop, but didn't do anything.
I also tried it on an Asus laptop with a Radeon 5730. It sais "Unable to save display settings".
The Catleap actually flashed for a split second revealing a duplicate screen, but went black simultaneously.
So, the cable I bought isn't good enough? I was told by the guy I purchased it from that it ran off his laptop fine. I think he had a pretty decent graphics card in it though.

Those hdmi to dvi don't work very often (what it the type, brand).
But the biggest problem is the DVI-D cable, it may sound stupid, but go at a staple and buy a real good dvi-d cable.
Than try again.
It happen to me, I was unable to open my korean monitor with 2 different chinese cable (yeah they were real dvi-d dual link cable).....I bought a good one at staple and VOILĂ€ It work.
I know your logic tell you a cable not working is idotic, but try it.

So your saying not to buy an adaptor, but an actual HDMI to DVI-D cable? I could give that a try.
