does anyone know if this version of the aspire one is memory upgradeable? I checked around a bit and found this youtube clip showing disassembly & upgrade - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EfzckyZMTk, but it doesn't say which model the guy is working on.
I didn't find any references to anyone upgrading the memory, and most technical detail pages don't say it is. If i could bring it up to 1gb, I'd probably buy one, but at 512, I don't think so.
comments?
tks
dwight
ps - i see a note from kwirky that mentions it has a spare memory slot, so perhaps it does

I think it is a decent deal at $230 despite the fact it is a refurbished, use 8G SSD and linux.

Cold deal
1) Why not buy new with 1GB ram & 1 year warranty just for 70 more?
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0117642&catid=
2) Or spend a bit more and get this one at 329.92 w/80GB HDD, 1GB Ram & XP from WMT:

Because that's 30% and 43% more money respectively. Do you get 30% and 43% more functionality? I doubt it.

agreed. I think this price / machine is for someone who don't want to upgrade. This machine is fine just for word and surfing.

Because everyone has a different budget. You can always spend more and get better specs. The question is: At which point are you going to stop?
I know people had bad experience with Acer's warranty service, so I would be leery of relying on Acer's warranty on a refurbished product. But YMMV.

just letting people know, I had to send in my Aspire One 8GB SSD (that I bought in the summer from eSNG) for an RMA to a local service centre (Burnaby, BC). It was into the service centre and out the same day (swapped out motherboard). They sent it back to me via FedEx. The whole thing was a painless experience thankfully.
