Toronto, eh?
Awesome! Newegg reviews are looking pretty solid. :) Anyone at RFD have any experience with Adata or its MIRs?

Awww... I thought it was no MIR, from the title, but there is :( "Mail-in Rebate -$35.00" and 8-10 weeks wait like all MIRs.
Lots in-stock in stores.
Keep watching Anime...

I hate MIRs. over $100 cash without the mir.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts.

Bought one about two months ago, it's been working really well. 7.8-7.9 windows experience index (I don't really remember exactly, upgraded to a Pyro Se recently). No problems whatsoever. It IS asynchronous... but to be honest, I haven't noticed any difference between that and my synchronous Pyro SE except for maybe a split second in boot times. Might notice the difference if you're using it to do any compression work.

The Windows Experience Index doesn't really give a good look at the performance of the drive.

Yea Newegg reviews look legit. I bought a S510 60GB before and the MIR process was fairly fast and smooth. turnaround time, if i remember correctly, was about 3-4 wks after i mailed in the form. just gotta make sure you have all the requested info in the mail.

I know it doesn't give detailed performance, but compared to a few other SSD's that have given 7.5-7.6, at least you know this one's one of the speedier drives.

7.9 is the maximum Windows can give...

Even if you had a drive that would read/write at 99 TeraBytes/sec

I am tempted to get a couple of these. I was looking at getting one 240GB SSd, but maybe two is a better option. I plan on doing a lot of video editing, so having one drive for the OS and programs, and another separate drive for the video files might be a better way to go.

Thoughts?

If you don't need 120GB for the OS drive, you always have the option to get 60GB. it's also on sale right now for $59.99 after rebate.

I'd be more comfortable with 120 gigs for the OS and programs drive. That way I don't have to worry about space when installing things.

Me too...OCZ is the worst. MSi took 11 months. Asus trickles in but still outstanding. Hard to chase these things down.

I have the Sata II Adata and it's been pretty solid. Not many firmware updates from Adata though and instructions are crap.

About the rebate questions, I bought this drive back in end of january, sent my rebate around first of feb from what i recall, and it was completed march 7th or so, and sent out to me, got it a few days back, it was 30$ cheque. I like these drives so far.
