Central AC cover
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get an AC cover that fits my 28*28*24(W*L*H) unit?
All covers I see in stores are 32*32*30 and it's just too big for my unit.
Thanks.

Do some Googling about covering up your AC unit - it may not be the best thing as I discovered.

I am considering building a plywood spacer with little pegs on each corner to put on top of my A/C. Then I'd put the cover over top. I was also thinking of cutting a small slit in the side to assist in venting. My unit is beside a path between houses that gets shoveled and I want to make sure salt and and ice isn't thrown into it, which would damage the delicate fins on the compressor coil. I also like the idea of less dirt/dust getting on them. The less washing the better, since you can damage the fins even with the hose.

I bought a huge moisture resistant tarp from the dollar store and coupled it with the biggest A/C cover I could find at Wal-Mart. I used bungee cords to tie them down. My Trane XR14 unit is huge!
