i beleive u need to go to college/university these days to become a professional accountant, as least for cma and ca. Doing college lets u to finish most accounting and finance courses to mee the cga requirements. Then, u need to get the practical experience requirement and some more exams.

With all three designations (CGA, CA, CMA) you need to complete a university at some point. However, the CGA program is flexible in that a degree is an EXIT requirement not entrance. College grads can enrol in the program at any time. It takes them a bit longer to complete the program then a university grad, since they're not getting as many transfer credits.
College and university business courses are assessed before you enrol - it's called a transfer credit evaluation. http://www.cga-domore.org/howtoget
The quickest way is to complete an 'Accredited Program' at college/university and enrol in the CGA program. You get the max number of transfer credits and you'll have around 4 courses to complete in the CGA program. http://www.cga-ontario.org/Accredited_Programs.aspx
Hope that helps!
