Changes to SDM Optimum points
I was at a SDM in Missassauga this afternoon, and the cashier advised me that as of July 1st the number of points you need to redeem at each level will increase. I believe he said that the minimum will be 8000, instead of 7000 as it is now.
Has anyone heard anything about this?
(He also said that it will be bonus redemption again this weekend, so it may be a good time to use up your points!)

I figured it was just a matter of time, but was hoping it would never happen.
I have over 550,000 points... I wonder if the new bonus redemptions for Ontario will be from $170 to $200 or if it will be increased.
this sucks!!_______________
I BOUGHT A HOUSE!
After a 3 year wait it's hard to believe I'm finally moving this week!!! What a rollercoaster of emotions it has been.

What a sad day....I guess I will unload my points as I really really love optimum. 'sigh' I hope no further changes will occur to ruin a great points program.

Sigh. Thanks for the heads up. Was going to sit out on this weekend's bonus redemption because we just redeemed $200 during the last one.
Looks like I'll be making a visit to SDM this Saturday to unload the remaining 75,000 points. What to buy, oh what to buy?

WOW that is a hammering. Really sucks for those of us holding a lot of points

Wonder if they'll throw some points to people who complain about it like they did last time after Roseman covered it._______________

This sucks. We should all complain. You would think they would give more notice.
Why is everyone hitting us on July 1st? First the HST, then Teksavvy increasing its rates and now SDM is devaluing our points. Every time I turn around it seems I'm getting hit with another increase.

Last time they did this there was no notice at all, the redemptions werent available for a short time for system maintenance and came back with a reduced value. Then, only for people who complained, they gave some points to people that held a balance as compensation, helped by ellen roseman covering what they did

No More Bonus Pts for Plus Members Redeeming
The new info is now posted on their website. It also mentions changes to the Plus program. I don't see explicitly what the changes are but I don't see the bonus points on redemption mentioned. Did they take them away??? Say it ain't so.
*Crap! I just looked at the current terms and conditions, which clearly outline the bonus points for Plus members on redemption. They have taken them away.Last edited by Cheap Cat; Jun 3rd, 2010 at 06:22 PM. Reason: *Update
