Channel Master 4221HD 4-Bay OTA HDTV-Antenna for $49.99
The Channel Master 4221HD is a really good OTA UHF outdoor antenna to go with if you live in the GTA.
I have not seen the CM4221HD cheaper then $49.99. These are actual Channel Master antennas and not a Dixie/Matheson clone.
1) Sensuz is selling the CM4221HD for $49.99 online or $54.99 UPS-store local pick-up. (http://www.sensuz.com/estore/catalog...roducts_id=313 ) (No local pickup fees if order > $100)
2) SaveAndReplay is selling the CM4221HD for $54.99 online or $54.99 in-store local pick-up. (http://overtheair.saveandreplay.com/...ter_4221HD.asp)

3) Angel Electronics is selling the CM4221HD for $55 in-store local pick-up. (http://www.angelelectronics.ca/ota_over_the_air)

what makes this better than a $30 similar-looking antenna I can pick up at a local store?

The reason why the 4221HD is better then the 4228HD is because the 4221HD has a wider field of sense, whereas the 4228 is more forward directional sensing. Thus the 4221HD is good for picking up the CN-tower and buffalo, whereas the 4228HD is more of sharp-shooting buffalo.

vs.

The 4221HD outperforms the original Channel Master 4221.

Also, please read dandaling's post about an authentic Channel Master vs. a $30 clone.

Some of the Channel Master clone companies are:
-DigiWave & Digiwave Technologies
-EagleStar
-MagicStar
-Antra (?)Last edited by prettyha8; Feb 25th, 2009 at 11:11 PM. Reason: posted names of common clones

i didn't buy that, but if you're going to go with a clone...may I suggest this 30$ plus shipping antenna....
http://www.partsforhdtv.com/hdtv-ant...new-p-180.html
the amplifiers are sold out but the prices are reasonable if not cheap
http://www.partsforhdtv.com/channel-...777-p-336.html
and http://www.partsforhdtv.com/channel-...778-p-253.html
I bought a DB8, (just add for 20$ of goods and shipping is 6$..(the antenna is 86$ as oppose to 100 and it's the original brand...
http://www.infonec.com/site/main.php...tail&id=410487
i'm in Montreal(near Lasalle),
after installing the DB8 and amplifier(which made a huge difference) at about 10ft high above ground level,
and after scanning, I was able to get radio canada (2.1), CBS(3.1-2), NBC(5.1-2), CBC (6.1), tele-quebec(17.1), PBS vermont(33.1-2-3), PBS plattsbugh(57.1-2-3
I am going to try to put it higher during the summer to try and get ABC and Fox...wish me luck..

Channel Master have been in the antenna business a very long time, I would expect this to hold together/work better.
Anyone seen a CM vs clone comparison?_______________

these antennas are not like a satelite, which needs to be pointed.
Antennas need to be pointed in a general area.
I'm not sure which antenna I have but it looks just like that. I picked it up at CC during boxing week for $39.
No complaints about HD channels.
edit: after looking at some photos, I have 4221HD, not 4228HD.
Mines good enough. I have most of the channels in OTA.Last edited by maniacshopper; Feb 26th, 2009 at 08:22 AM.

Better yet, build one yourself with coat hangers. Search youtube for this. I did and I'm getting 8 HD channels now.
