Put up a $25 antra clone last night on the 2nd floor pointing out of a window randomly guessing the CN tower location. Received about 12 to 13 digital and 12 to 13 analog channels. Received all Toronto channels, a few US channels. I think this is quite good result.

I feel the same way too. Plus, I'd want to consider how my neighbors might feel looking at my coat hanger and chicken wire contraption (depends on your neighborhood and how visible the antenna is).
Our new house is about 2 blocks from Lake Ontario. Definitely going to grab one of these when we move in the summer!

Haha... spokesperson... I wish, then at least I'd get paid.
Didn't think that I'd get flamed just for sharing my thoughts and experience...
$5 coat hanger is fine as long as you have the time and inclination to do it... I certainly don't. Why don't you go and build yourself your own car, bicycle, house, etc?

Are you sure that you need preamp?
I have CM 4221 in attic and I am located in the RIchmond Hill area. I am getting most of Toronto and BUffalo channels, probably about 13 HD.
My CBC channel is not very stable so I bought CM 7777 preamp. After attaching it to my antenna I am getting 0 channels!!!! I was explained that this is because preamp overloads my tunner. I had to move my pream about 20-30 feet away from antenna and then it worked. My preamp now works just as signal amplifier because I have a long cable run - maybe 70-80 feet. But CBC channels reception still not stable.
So before you are buying preamp - make sure you need it!!!!

Made in China clones are available for $29 from various computer stores just west of the Spadina/College area (Toronto).
I personally have the Channel Master 4228HD which is great. Great reception and not really that big on your roof. I bought my father-in-law one of the Chinese clones and it was just as good, but at a fraction of the cost.
Optionally, if you want to build your own, there are a few web sites that provide instructions using off-the-self hardware store items - also at a fraction of the cost. I don't have the links with me, but if you do a search you're bound to find a few such sites.

Just wanted to add a little with regards to the clone vs CM, it really depends on where you are..
I'm located in west Mississauga and have both original CM 4221 and one of the clones. My antennae is in the attic and I've tried both antennas that I've had and with CM i was able to get quite a few more channels than with the clone.
When comparing them, I am able to get about 17 channels on CM (not including sub channels). Only channels I did not get are MyTV(49-x) and TBN(26-x) http://www.remotecentral.com/hdtv/
With the clone I was able to get less than 10.
Even with CM, some channels where not very stable until i got pre-amp (7777).
Once I plugged it in (not yet correctly, both amp and power are located near the receiver... didnt have time to climb into attic) I get all of the channels(except mytv and tbn) quite stable.
This is all later split into 4 tuners + TV (5 tuners total)
Since this new 4221HD seems to be able to pickup greater angle(I have about 150 degrees between buffalo and CN, even more to hamilton) than old model, I am thinking of getting it and trying it this spring.

How many channels could I get from downtown Cambridge? Is it worth even bothering with a CM4221 for me?

How about this one DB4? Does anyone use it and have any thought about it? How does DB4 compare with CM4221HD? People in Toronto can order from this store as well.

Here is a forum where ppl post their reception results, (look for your city): http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=129
I am impressed that they are reporting a total of 39 digital channels in the Toronto/Hamilton area.
I am guessing these are results from people that know what they are doing. ie) Pre-amps and proper directional pointing, etc. http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=95753

Whereabouts in RH? I am south of Elgin Mills, west of Bayview - no line of sight to CN tower. I currently have a huge outdoor antennae inside attic but only pick up CBC and CTV HD. I'm thinking of replacing it with the CM4221 and CM7777 (if necessary).

Depending on where you are, you probably don't need to spend $50+ on one of thse antennas.
I'm in Oakville and I picked up a $25 Eaglestar from Dixie/Matheson. It is sitting on top of a dining chair, which is in the middle of the hallway facing the front window and I'm getting both US and CAN HD channels (20 of them).
I tried building one from a $1 store aluminum cookie pan and two cut up coat hangers and was only able to get 5 HD channels. It might have been the balun I was using though (from an old NES system).

For those who have ordered from Sensuz before, how long do you have to wait before you can pick up the item?
Also, has anyone used the 4221HD successfully indoors?
