The first rule of RFD is, you do not talk about RFD.

The second rule of RFD is, you DO NOT talk about RFD.

Received the email, having deleted the app immediately after last year's promo.

Firstly, how is it even possible to 'tap' with a phone? I thought the tap was based on the magnetic properties of the card itself.

Not knowing I could 'tap,' I just got the guy at Esso to 'scan' the app (Aeroplan) thinking somehow UGO would factor itself into the barcode.

So, is it resolved that the only way they can know if you used it is to 'tap' something? I guess I'll have to use a credit card which I was hoping to avoid inputting on UGO.

Did they start supporting MBNA and PC CC?
I remember installing the app when they announced that they'll start supporting them soon but never did and ended up uninstalling the app

Can confirm that it supports PC cards now. Not sure about MBNA.

Thanks, just tried but still doesn't support MBNA :(
Hopefully Samsung will end the CIBC exclusive support for Samsung Pay soon

This offer likely only applies for any Payment cards you've added onto the uGo Wallet. And your device must be NFC enabled in order to do the tapping.

Got reply from their CSR. Loyalty cards qualify.

======================================================================

As you mentioned, using a loyalty card at a store will indeed qualify you for the offer.

To receive your eGift card, please follow these steps below:

1) Use any card in your UGO Wallet from May 10 - May 31st, 2017 to qualify
2) Receive the eGift Card by June 21st, 2017
3) Make sure you claim the eGift card by July 7th 2017

To answer your second inquiry, UGO uses a tool that allows us to track UGO Wallet customer activity. We use this to create and send relevant offers to customers based on their individual activity, like the one you've just asked about.

Please don't hesitate to follow up with us if you have any further questions.

Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for posting the response you got from them.

Anyone know what stores can scan a UGO bar code?

  • Harveys can NOT for their Gift Cards, but CAN for the Scene Points card.

I have a PC plus card in UGO wallet. The barcode is the same as the physical card. How does UGO know that I used my phone or the physical card?

My guess is when you click the card and it pop up on screen that's where UGO record it as one activity. There is no way they know if it got scanned or not.

Guys I got the Indigo giftcard! What I did was add a loyalty card (BCAA/petro canada whatever) to the wallet and tap the card to open it. That's it. All at home.
