Don't use a Rogers card for this. You pay 2.5% forex fee and get no cash back on cash advances.

I visited a brick-and-mortar currency exchange shop here in Vancouver to get $150 US before heading down for New Years. Rate was much better than any bank and I didn't want to have to put up with ATM fees or standing in line at a US bank for a cash advance.
Is the rate better than Amazon Visa? I doubt it.

No, but for $150 we're talking pennies worth of difference. 50¢ at the most. That is easily eaten up by an ATM fee. If someone wants to tell us at what ATMs or US banks I can get fee-free cash advances on Marriott Visa card, I'm all ears.

The best chance to get no ATM fee is to use your Amazon/Marriott card at Chase bank. But no one here could confirm this. Since these 2 cards are from Chase, there shouldn’t be any fee when using ATM at a Chase bank.

I'm going to be in Maui in March. No Chase banks or ATMs on the entire island. Anyone know how I can get a fee-free cash advance on this card there?

Looks like the Amazon Visa is being discontinued in March of this year. Here's hoping this card doesn't suffer the same fate...

I was hoping you guys could notify me! But...this one does have an annual fee so maybe it is more profitable and worth keeping for the companies?

Pretty much confirmed. I have both the Marriott Visa and the Amazon Visa and I submitted a request and asked about what happens with my outstanding points.

A rep (With Scotiabank on the caller ID) called me and explained that both the programs will be discontinued as of March 15, 2018. Any outstanding points earned as of that date will be transferred to the Marriott account and the card will stop working.

For the Amazon Visa card, they will issue any earned Amazon points as a statement credit as of March 15 as well when the card will cease to function.

I inquired about new cards and as far as he knew, they are just exiting the card business with no plans for new cards.

Submitted my application to the Home Trust Visa a few days ago.
So the Chase Marriott Visa card is getting axed for all existing card holders on March 15, 2018?

That's a pretty specific case...and also since USD/CAD is a major pair you'll always receive at least a half-decent rate anywhere outside an airport.

The main reason I use advances in other countries is when I don't want to bring hundreds or thousands in cash. After all, having all that cash is a liability for you.

Can anybody reaching anniversary recently share if the annual Cat 1-5 voucher is still available?

Got it last summer, and afraid the card would be discontinued before my anniversary...Disappointed But Relieved Face

I'm pretty sure if the card is cancelled you won't get a voucher.

Well if March 15, 2018 is the last day, I'm not getting the anniversary voucher.

Everyone remember to spend on it once before March 15, 2018 to reset your Marriott points activity countdown for one last time.

I’d like to know if they will refund the annual fee, at least on a pro-rated basis.

Renewed in Nov. Did get the cat-5.

I now have 3 x cat-5 certificates. Too bad they don't allow this to be used as 25k points, and if combinable even better.
