Considering Chase Canada is no more...I guess it's their life.

Dated January 15, 2018, so coming Monday. I assume that is when Chase will mail out the cancellation notices to cardholders.

There is also this page:
https://www.chase.com/online/canada/amazon-ca-home.htm
I received a cancellation notice in the mail on Friday, it says pretty much what this thread already told me.

That isn't very much notice. Consider people who are currently using the card while traveling, e.g. snowbirds now in the US who won't be back to get their snail mail until after 15Mar18 when their card has expired. I'd hate to be travelling and find out the hard way that Chase has pulled the plug on me. Yet another reason to carry more than one credit card.

And there's still nothing on the Chase/Amazon Visa website where customers would normally login to check their account status. I wonder if the card will actually stop working on 16Mar18 or if it will continue to be accepted for a while after that to allow for the news to get out to everyone. (Added: Chase will have to continue to service the amazon.ca for months to come. Consider someone who pays only the monthly minimum amount. That could go on for years. So even after 15Mar18 Chase will still be around. They could make exceptions for people who are travelling and who only find out about this when their card is declined after 15Mar18. That would be a reputable way to deal with this.)

Does it mention anything about earned / not-paid yet reward points?

Probably not. Going trough 4059 messages to find the "links provided" would require a considerable amount of time. Also, most of the things people were saying here in 2012 are not that relevant today.

Posting personal beliefs and opinions instead of helpful answers makes this thread even longer.
So does asking questions which have been answered a million times. If you cared about thread length you would have had the decency to read one or to pages of this one before asking.

You might want to contact Chase/Amazon, explain your travel situation, and see if they can extend the validity of your card until you return to Canada. If phoning them is inconvenient you can login to your account, click Account Maintenance and then Secure Correspondence. I've communicated with them via this mechanism while travelling in the past. They've always responded quickly. In one case I used this mechanism to report an emergency while in Europe. They responded that they'd make a notation on my account so that any larger-than-usual charges would be accepted. (And they were.)
