Cheap/best price drywall in Toronto?
Hello Fellow Rfd members, i am starting to buy material for a full house renovation. I need help with the following questions:
1- Besides HomeDepot are there are places where in can buy drywall at a good price in the GTA?
2-Buying something like 60 drywalls am i able to negotiate price?
3- Does it occurs sales on drywall seasonally like other products?
4-Anyone else know of "smaller" places around GTA with good prices?
Home Depot has if i can recall correctly 8x4 drywall sheets for 11.99 or 12.99.
5-What is the standard price for a 8x4 drywall sheet?
6-What is the best price ppl have been able to get for drywall?
Any other advice that can save me some money with regards to drywall would be much appreciated!

I am looking for drywall for my basement too.
A guy is selling for $7.99 in the north of Brampton and I am worrying about the quality.
Just wondering if anyone here ever has bought the drywall from him.

Watch where it was made, there was a bunch of Chinese made drywall that was "bad". Make sure that they are not trying to offload this stuff to you.

Rona had 4x8x1/2 for $10.99 last time I checked, I was surprised it was a $1 cheaper than Home Depot

Chinese dry wall is bad. There are tons of stories in the US about houses flooding during Katrina and the drywall turning to mould. And some of the drywall has asbestos and lead particles in it.

You can try Lowes, go to contractor\ costumer desk and ask for quote
Usually it takes one day to give quote back I got 30% off regular price of drywall, when i bought for finishinig basement along with other stuff, it helps if you have Lowes credit card
Discount can vary from item to item (5%-30%) biggest one 30% off was on drywall
It was made in Canada, not a china like most of cheap drywall....Last edited by BARTONd; Sep 23rd, 2010 at 07:47 AM.
