I'm also curios about this place as I need 135 sheets of drywall to do my basement.
How can you tell if the drywall that had asbestos in it is being resold by this place?

Is there a lot # / brand that I can ask to see if this is the case with this place?

Try Central Fairbank Lumber, sometimes $1-$2 cheaper than HD or Rona per sheet.

Yep, I bought drywall at Drywall Depot and all was good. Think Rona in Brampton has great drywall prices to compete-that was the case last fall.

Notchy asked about asbestos back in Nov, that hasn't been an issue in drywall since the 80's....maybe some tape after that. The recent problem drywall was made in China a few years back, it was some sulfuric ash causing the drywall to off gas toxic fumes. Tons of info on the net, you shouldn't run into any for sale now.

Just did a search and looks like made in Mexico. Looks like they were not one of the problem producers a couple years back.

You can try Lowes, go to contractor\ costumer desk and ask for quote
Usually it takes one day to give quote back I got 30% off regular price of drywall, when i bought for finishinig basement along with other stuff, it helps if you have Lowes credit card
Discount can vary from item to item (5%-30%) biggest one 30% off was on drywall
It was made in Canada, not a china like most of cheap drywall....

Is this for real?
I just made a 10,000$ purchase at Lowes on a Lowe's credit card last week and spent 1 hour arguing with the Manager to give me a discount (had1,000 for drywall only). In the end they barely gave me 300$ of a discount. Should I have done something else to get the discount?
Last year I spent $6,000 overthere and he kept saying how the store has competitive prices and my purchase is "shady" and cannot give me a discount.
Unbelivable! Not only that they have the highest prices but he was arogant enough not to appreciate my money.

His name is Stewart over at Etobicoke store.

Another place for $6.99 per panel. They Claim it is Canadian made so should be sticking to CSA approved standards and quality. Does anyone have experinece using them and if so what are the reviews. I have to start very soon.

Bought from them Resan; all was good. Call ahead and your orders ready for pick up, not a nick-no sheets stuck together or anything. Drywalls heavy, seen a few guys overload their vans because they drove a bit too save $.

That Wholesale Direct place has good price and has stock (in longer sheets) on 5/8 drywall required for ceiling fire code. Can save some mudding/taping with the bigger sheets but talk about heavy!

I bought some sheets from Rona in Whitby last summer-manager called Brampton Rona store and then price matched :D I like that store as you drive inside for pickup, they help you load the drywall right into your truck.

That ad is for www.wholesaledrywall.ca and they told me $6.99 is pickup only. I asked about delivery to Stoney Creek and was told it's $7.99/sheet for delivery to Stoney Creek + $125 delivery. Not sure how the price goes up and you get dinged additionally for delivery but it is what it is.

Rona had 4x8x1/2 for $10.99 last time I checked, I was surprised it was a $1 cheaper than Home Depot
I have observed the same. Many things I bought last 1-1/2 to 2 years are cheaper than Home-depot.
