I am sorry to informed you that the order still not ship because this model was short of stock now .
And Model#:sku20213 OEM U9GT 2 Tablet PC 9.7 Inch Android 4.0 16GB 1G RAM Ultra Thin Silver this model is available now
http://www.pandawill.com/catalogsear...lt/?q=sku20213
, just wondering would you like to replace to this model ?
If you agree we can replace it free , it is no need to pay any extra cost .
We are looking forward to your reply .
Best regards
Cherry
Now I have to start all over again to see if the OEM U9GT 2 is better. So far, the cameras are 2.0mb front and back versus 1.3 and 5.0 for the Vi40 (not a big deal). The battery is 8000Mah versus 6800Mah for the Vi40 and there is no hdmi port on the OEM U9GT 2 ( not a big deal) but there are two mini usb ports versus one on the Vi40 (hmmm... maybe possibility to attach memory stick?).
It must be Monday.
Heeeeelp!
UPDATE: I have asked Pandawill for a projected shipping date. I ordered on 30 Jan so everyone else who ordered after me is also going to get the letter from Cherry.

Just sold my HP Touchpad, so I'm looking into my next toy. I would also like to know. Can the mini usb port output to a hdmi monitor? Thanks

Did you read post #117 here? I don't think I'd be looking at that tablet as a replacement. So far my payment is still 'pending' ...fingers crossed!

Did anyone else order from Ownta.com? I placed an order on the 29th and the funds were pulled from my CC last week.
On a similiar note, has anyone received the vi40 yet?

I'd asked in the pandawill offline live chat about my onda vi40 order and received this answer the next day
Sorry , payment still not received
So you order status is pending now
eCheck estimated completion: 2012-Feb-07 - 2012-Feb-09. We recommend that you don't ship items until you receive payment.
Pls check that
I think they're saying they're waiting for my payment to clear (it cleared my bank on Feb 1st). Once it clears I suspect I'll be offered an alternative....
From pandawill forums "[New Arrival] ONDA VI40 Elite Version android 4.0 Tablet PC",
Sorry, Bad news. The manufacturer notified us the time to dispatch Onda Vi40 is delayed yesterday. The factory is lack of screens to continue production.
Onda Vi40 is expected to arrive at the end of February.

I'm considering the Ainol's but there are so many of them I'm kind of confused...
http://www.merimobiles.com/dealoftheday.asp
I'm 50/50 whether I want a 9.7 or 7 inch. I think it just depends on which one I happen to be looking at when I impulse buy.
Important things to me are
a) responsiveness of the screen and how quick the tablet is overall. I will be watching movies, browsing, and reading pdfs and ebooks. Maybe some light gaming but not much.
b) Being able to stay updated to new OS. I don't mean having new builds every week, but say when Android 5.0 comes out there is no fear of not being able to use it. (I have no idea how realistic this is...anyone?)
c) battery life

the cheapest place to buy them right now appears to be http://www.b2conlineshop.com/
anyone any experience? register with them get $10 off coupon. (I dont notice anything about this on the site but they do in fact send you one receieved one right away)
Novo 7 Elf is $142-$10= $132
Novo 7 advance 2 is $124- $10= $114
difference between the two.. (for thouse who dont know) as far as i can tell.
advance has 512mb less ram
advance has 800 x 480 screen reso where elf has 1024 x 768
and advance has slightly worse viewing angle..
This seems the cheapest option at this point but have no experience with b2onlineshop (is it a scam?)
last thing you want to do is order elf and get paladin!

The best 7" is the new Novo 7 Aurora because of it's IPS screen and better viewing angle. There's 3 video reviews here:
http://www.merimobiles.com/Ainol_NOV...p/meri0729.htm
Much like the Onda vi40 Elite, it seems to be out of stock everywhere. I guess you can always pre-order it. It's cheaper at Pandawill though, $159 shipped (8gb version) using 5% off coupon "pandaforyou5".
Personally, I've concluded that this is a bad time to buy tablets. Yeah, I know that something better will always come along, but I think we're 2-3 months from seeing big price drops on current tablets, when quad core tablets are introduced. For example, the new Asus 7" quad core Tegra3 ICS tablet will be introduced in Q2 for $249.
