Cheap Driving Ranges?

Well the weather's getting nice, it feels like ages since I've last hit a golf ball. What are some cheaper places to hit a few rounds. The one I used to go to somewhere in Scarborough or Markham, closed down.

cheap and golf is an oxymoron.

Most places in the east end of the city are ~$10 / bucket, prices may vary by $1-2 but with today's gas prices, you're better off going to the closest range.

yea i guess that's true, i forgot to consider gas prices >.> , does anyone know if there are cheaper times to go also? something like happy hour~

For the spring season, so until I think its May 10th, its usually after 12 its cheaper prices, but after that date the time changes from 12 to 3. If your near Newmarket, Cardinal Golf Club West is a decent course and its only 50 bucks on weekends after 12 right now

i just went to a golf range this weekend, havent been to one in ages..

the one i went to was near angus glen...on kennedy, north of Major Mack...

It was $12 for a large bucket of balls, which was about 100 balls i think...a small bucket is $7. this price included the driver.

not sure how this range compares to others, it was a decent way to spend an hour with some friends.

I'm selling some golfing certificates in the Buy/Sell Forum. $15 a round - which is as cheap as going to a range. It's better for your game to play all of the clubs in your bag in real situations rather than to go to a range IMO.

lol rolling hills...awesome course to go mess around and get off the winter rust =)...

i usually go to a range on Woodbine north of Elgin Mills...could try out the one on kennedy, that might be closer. i think the buckets are about ~12-15 for a jumbo. For me, 2 people split a jumbo is more than enough.

I don't think it's advertised, but they had $30 for unlimited balls for 2 hours. I usually split a mat with 1-3 other people.

I'm a beginner, so I waste a lot of balls. Usually in 2 hours, we can go through 3-5 buckets of balls easily.

i used to get the entertainment book and there would be some 2 for 1 coupons in there. in the past launch and other places would be in the book so check that out if you have the book or your friends have a book

woodbine + 407 is a pretty popular place, but quite expensive. they have a dome for nighttime and i believe the outdoor range has lights.

There's a place on Milner road west of McCowan that stays open pretty late, but again it's a indoor dome.

MajorMack east of McCowan has an outdoor range.

With regards to renting clubs, i'm pretty sure these places rent out, but they're not decent clubs anyways, you might get a driver and like a 5-iron.

If you're serious about learning how to play, i highly suggest taking some lessons, as the fundamentals are pretty important.

Toronto, ON Markham Road and Steels, if you follow the south east block around you will end up in a street between some large machinery and farmland and you will see it. 9.25 for a large bucket on mats (they have grass too), don't remember any other price because I have only been doing large bucket.

The place doens't look all that good (aesthetically) compare to the ranges next to a golf course... but hey... golf is a personal game, it doesn't matter where you are as long as you can improve your techniques... of course the buy 5 get 1 50% off and the low prices keep the pocket happy.

Yea i've been to the Markham/Steeles one a couple of times. I think it was 12 bux for a jumbo which will keep u there for awhile. Also there is one in Brampton if ur willing to travel which is on the South Direction on Hurontario once u get off the 407. Jumbo bucket costs you 9 bux

This driving range is one of the more well maintained ones.

i live in the yonge-eglinton area of toronto. can anyone recommend a place nearby? in my research, i found beach fairway golf range on vic park, and i saw launch and the metro dome in scarborough. i'd prefer one that sells balls by the bucket rather than paying $24 for an hour.
