Is texting the only feature you want? No minutes, no data, no nothing? Koodo has a $15 UL international texting feature as a base prepaid plan.

What about the $25 plan here? http://www.publicmobile.ca/pmconsume...turePhonePlans
Does that mean unlimited texting from within the states also?
Edit: nvm their coverage sucks in the states :/

I would say yes to SMS and no to MMS but definitely don't quote me on that and ask Koodo (or whichever provider) beforehand. The info on their website says: "Availability of service will vary by country and is subject to change without notice. Excludes premium messages and subscription-based messages. Picture messaging includes international picture messages sent and received within Canada. Picture messaging is not supported by BlackBerry smartphones."
Here's the link for the $15 plan: http://koodomobile.com/en/on/plansandboosters.shtml

If you travel often to the US, you might be better off with prepaid offers from the US companies if you have an unlocked phone.
Edit: Here's some info I gathered quickly from canadian carriers.
Fido and Rogers:
48 hours unlimited texting in the US - $10
Koodo:
3-day US roaming UL text - $10
30-day US UL text - $20

Not sure how I'd go about it exactly but $15 to koodo Canada and then $20 to koodo in the USA should get me what i want?

If you really only want texting in Canada, the $15 Koodo prepaid plan seems good. Then for the US sure you can pay Koodo $20 for 30-day texting in the US (but ask for this before you cross the border).
Though you should definitely check out the US carriers if your phone is unlocked, it should be cheaper.

Go with Bell. They have unlimited text messaging and you can text people around the world (already tried it). It's $15/month prepaid.

You've tried texting while being OUTSIDE of Canada? OP is looking for unlimited texting when in the US, not solely in Canada.
