Are their food actually that good? Or is it just another trendy or celebrity-related or social-media thing that everyone MUST go?
I've been to the one in Buffalo few years ago... to be honest I don't remember anything particular about it...
I had it in the US too, out of 5 stars, I would give it 3.5 realistically. Its not bad by any means, but certainly not worth waiting hours for. Since I rate it about 3.5/5, I would not go out of my way to visit, nor would I be willing to wait

How are the lineups now?
Was there about a week ago on a Sunday. Wait was about 45 minutes. Place is a giant mess though in terms of the amount of people standing around. Then there's the lineup for people who just want the cheesecake. Cheesecake line moved slowly mainly because it's not organized properly. Takes way too long to get a slice of cake (20mins)

Was there last Friday (Aug 10) at about 7pm... yep cheesecake line is about 20 mins or so.

Not sure of the main restaurant -- saw some people waiting but didnt look overbearing...ive been to buffalo where wait times was 3 hours (yes I stood once for that and it's one of the biggest, if not biggest regrets of my life).

Is Jamie's Italian still in business? CF is killing him... if there's an hour-long wait at CF, you can walk right in and get seated immediately next door at Jamie's. I bet most of the people in line at CF have no idea Jamie is next door.
Friendly reminder: South Street is the second coming of Licks, and Works Burger is a bad ripoff of Red Robin put out by those purveyors of garbage, MTY Shit Restaurants Group.

This is not the same as waiting 2 hours for the first dish to arrive.

Also what did you order that they brought you chicken instead of fish? As far as I know there is nothing on the menu that you have a choice of the two that can be mixed up....
Starting from the time I put my name down and getting my first plate, it was about 2 hours.
So when does my official waiting time begin?

You can order fish, chicken, or beef tacos.
Ordered fish, got chicken.

the way you worded it sounded like you ordered your meal and waited 2 hours for it to arrive. I am not the only one who thought that.
Got that Zoomer account!

PitaLand @ Spadina & Bloor (on Spadina where Licks used to be) now has Cheesecake factory cheesecake slices. No line up!

It's been almost a year now and originally I was somewhat enticed to go....still haven't gone yet! Curious is the pricing in line with the US locations?

We went recently on a Tuesday for lunch, figuring it should be quieter on a Tuesday, however we still had to wait about 15-20 minutes.

We had to wait 50 minutes on a Thursday night in Tampa. I suspect the hype is permanent.

My wife likes it but I think it's just ok. There are much better restaurants IMO.

It's not just that, it's also the fact that Cheesecake factory slices can be found at other restaurants with NO line up.
Shoeless Joe's is one of those restaurants:
