Chicken feed as cat litter? Anyone?

I was at my local Petsmart and was chatting with the lady who runs the adoption place there. I was asking what to get for my cat etc, and I asked about what litter she would recommend. She said she does not use litter but chicken feed from a farm supply store. $20 for a 60lbs bag sounds good to me and after a quick search on the internets, it turns out it might be the same material as in "worlds best cat litter" or very close to. I went in the back and there was no smell from the cages at all.
Anyone use this? Where do you get yours?

Why not just use pine pellets? I think it's about $7 for 40 lb bag. Works great for us and way better odour control than clay litter.

I am interested to find a different cat littler as well.
For me, Pine pellets aren't an option because I have another pet that's sensitive to pine.

What stores carry pine pellets? I've been looking but can't find any.
