Wanting to purchase a chisel set to carve out some space in my doorway. I noticed some chisels have a wooden handle. With a wooden handle can it tolerate being hammered? Or are there special chisels made from different handles that can handle the hammering?

get the plastic handle ones at Canadian tire, they are cheap and can take a good pounding
