Anyone familiar with Choice Hotels, they offer a program that if you book a room from Choice Hotels.com and find a lower rate on a competing website within 24 hrs and submit a online claim, within 24 to 48 hrs they will reply back after researching the claim and tell you whether you are approved or not.

This has definitely worked, as many of my friends/family has stayed there in the past for free.

The exchange rate may not be the greatest, but having a free night stay really helps. Use the room for going to a hockey game, concert, shopping or whatever.

This will only work from April to December and for stays on Sunday nights to Thursday nights that I can see.(No Friday or Saturday Nights)

First you need to book a room on Choice Hotels.com and it must be available to the competing website as well. For example for June 3, 2018, I king Bed Accessible, No smoking with 2 adults in the room on Choice Hotels for Sunday June 3 is $209.00, on Travelocity.com the same room for the same date is $188.00) I think this would be approved for a free night stay if done correctly.

ALWAYS make sure you book the rate for PAY AT CHECK IN, which is cancelable. (They don't charge your card at all when you reserve a room, they just validate your credit card to make sure you have sufficient funds)

More than likely this would be approved for a free night stay.

One think to remember is if you book a room on Choice Hotels, and you don't have a Choice Hotels account, you then need to add your address to the reservation. To do that you need to go to www.ChoiceHotels.com, under manage reservations, type in your confirmation # and last name on reservation and go to change/modify reservation and it should allow you to enter you home address. If no address is on file, your claim will be denied.

Final step is to submit your online claim form, very easy to do. (example below)

Confirmation Number: xxxxxxxx
Check-in Date: June 3, 2018
Choice Booked Rate: 209.00 USD
Lower Rate: 188.00 USD
Found at: http://www.travelocity.com
Contact Information
Guest Name: John Doe
Country Canada
Address: 123 Any Street ,
Toronto, ON,
Evening Phone: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Day Phone: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Email:

NOTE: Not sure how long the rates on the competing website Travelocity.com will remain, so best to book and submit a claim asap, before the rate changes.

UPDATE: I would suggest anyone trying for a free night stay that they book the, 1 King Bed Suite, No Smoking Bedroom Suite, 2 person sofa bed for most dates because there are more of those rooms in inventory. See screenshots below for June 3, 2018. Example, on choice hotel price is $289.00, on Travelocity.com price is $260.00.

I think for some reason RFD redirect the links. Need to book on ChoiceHotels.com. Hope that helps.

Thank you. I tried submitting the form.
I have to choose the $50 reward card in physical form or digital form. It's a mandatory field. But it doesn't apply to international customer, right? If approved, I should be getting a free night stay. I don't even need to pay any fee or tax, correct? Wish me luck :)
Thanks OP.

Yes, when you submit the online form, you have to choose physical or digital reward card. But if you get a free night you shouldn't have to pay anything.
Did you remember to add you home street address or do you have a choice hotels account.

5 stars in Buffalo?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe it's relative to the other options.

Don't get your hopes up that your BRG claim will be approved. BRG claims are always YMMV. Choice can take up to 48 hours to respond and by then the Travelocity rate might have changed by then. Sometimes (depending on who you get on the Choice rate team) Choice looks for the littliest things in order to reject the rate. Example: Choice's King Accessible has a "Desk with Ergonomic Chair" however Travelocity's king accessible room doesn't so the room description doesn't match.

Not joking... see this post on flyertalk in regards to someone getting a rejection because the linens didn't match:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/29482182-post10.html

As for personal experience, one time I booked a room, and used the guarantee. the next day I got a rejection email stating the rooms don't match. I look at my reservation and someone changed the reservation on me (from King room to a king room with a sofabed):
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/choice- ... essed.html

However, I used Choice Hotel's BRG many times over the years with lots of success. Definitely saved $1000's, however as of late it's a bit harder to get a BRG approved.

I do agree with you it can be YMMV at times. But it's worth a shot. I do know a few people who have been approved. It sometimes depends on the agent looking at your claim.
