CIBC Aerogold Signup / Annual bonus

I just did some math using my spending/travel habits to compare the Aerogold vs Capital One vs TD Infinite and arrived at the conclusion that the Aerogold works best for me especially if I redeem business class tickets to HKG every 2 years.

The card has potential to DOMINATE the Aspire if I am able to get at least 11,386 aeroplan points every year.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Do I cancel and reapply each year to get 15,000 aeroplan points? or do they only give 5000? Or they give 0?


Please I know there are some who are bitter with Aeroplan's recent changes. Let's not get off topic here and focus on the question of whether it's possible to get annual aeroplan points from CIBC for this card?
