Current list shows 300 tickets ordered, so 450 more required.
However OP stated earlier there is a chance order may proceed without hitting minimum.

I'm not sure if it's still on but I just sent an e-transfer for 10 tickets.

I'll be joining this very soon in hopes of getting our quota filled.
Any idea why the decline in participation in recent years?

This is RFD, unless there's another cheaper alternative we're not aware of.... :/

Probably everybody stealing their movies for free online? I don't do this, but I think I'm the last person on the planet that doesn't. It's too bad.

Few theories:
  • Very few people check non-Hot Deals threads
  • New RFD members are confused by the group buy process
  • Perceived discount is no longer that high (~7 per ticket vs ~9 per ticket)
  • New movies aren't that great

Hi I'm new year and I just stumbled over your thread. I would be very interested in buying 20 tickets.

So if I understand correctly I can send you the money via interac online (your email is in the FP) first and then you take care of everything for free ? That's a pretty nice gesture. Pretty rare to see so much altruism nowadays.

I have a question about the shipping costs. Your rate is 93$ for 10 tickets with shipping fees included. If I buy 20 tickets and pay 186$ it's like I would be paying the shipping fees twice even though you'll be sending all 20 tickets in the same enveloppe, right ?

Or no time to watch movies because have to pay mortgage on overpriced house... ( i know a few actually who say that)

Movies not amazing (most superhero crap is just...crap) enough to bother. I personally find books to give me a much more fulfilling pastime. I find myself wanting to read more and more lately than watch a movie or TV show.

Limited time (may not be work as above, could be sports/kids/other stuff etc)

Netflix/VPN'ed US movie options.

Good news - this group buy will be going ahead regardless of the final number! Get your orders in or you'll miss out!!
In for another 10, just sent email money transfer. Same secret question/answer as before.

Give it a few days to show up.

While I agree with most everything you've said, I don't think any of those things have changed materially over the past few years. Those conditions all existed before, but more and more people are pirating movies that are still in the theatre. Even middle aged fogies like my friends are doing this. I swear I'm the only person I know who doesn't do this (I also don't steal music).
