How did you apply for the card?
It would be the legal card holder agreement made when you apply for the card that legally binds you to pay a credit card. I am sure on the application you spelled your name correctly and would also have provided your SIN # , address, signed the agreement etc. This would be the case whether the application was completed in store or on line.

Citi Credit Card Issue
Hi All, I just received my Staples Credit card (Citi Financial) and I've noticed that my name is spelled incorrectly.
Anyone know of any loophole that if my name is incorrectly spelled I need not pay any balance?
Much appreciated._______________TRANCE/HOUSE Fan?

I would think that if you knowingly used the card with the incorrect spelling of your name, that you would be committing fraud. I'd suggest correcting the card, or just pay the bills.

I used an actual form, all my info is on it. Thanks for the information, I'll call in and have it corrected.
