Claiming Tuition without income?
Hi there, I left my position late 2010 to travel, pursue personal interests and go back to school. I used a potion of my saving to pay for my tuition, but I realized since I have to income for the whole 2011 how can I claim my T2202A ?
Ive heard I can either Transfer unused amounts to a spouse/family member or Carry them over.
Will they automatically carry over if I dont file this year?

File, even if it's 0.
You'll use 0 credits and carry the full amount forward.
And you likely have bank interest to include, unless you used up everything before 2011 began..
By not filing, you'd be missing out on other credits, e.g. gst/hst as well.

thanks will do.
As a general question, what happens when Tuition is not claimed or filed for that specific year? I may have tuition that I have never filed for back in 2007 ;(

Do a T1 Adjusted for previous years.
You should always file every year, just so you get your GST back.
