cleaning filters?
hi guys,
i have a bunch of UV filters i want to sell but many of them have just been left out and are now covered in dust. is there an easy way to clean these without ruining them? some also have purplish hue stains from liquid I guess, is there a way to clean this? is it the coating?
thanks.

What brand UV filter is it? Hoya ones are more difficult to clean cuz they leave smears. If theres dust all over I reccomend not rubbing anything on it right away.
First get one of those blowers (not canned air just the thingy you push on) and blow as much dust and particles off as possible.
I personally just rinse in plain water or distilled water then whipe it gently with a soft cloth.

Depends on the dirt level...
If it's is just dust, blow it off with some compressed air and then use a good microfiber cloth to do the rest. If it is some oily residue, you might need to get some lens cleaning fluid, a lens pen, or some other means to remove the residue.

The purple hue is good, its the multilayer coating.
