Closing Chequing Account - does it matter for credit history or score
I have had a chequing with TD where i have kept 1000 min bal to avoid the monthly fee, This account has been active since the past 7 years now and i have used this as a primary chequing acount for quite a while.
I now need $$$ and i am willing to pull the money out and may be transfer my chqing account to PCF and have no min bal req + free transactions.
I am not sure if closing this account will impact any way on my credit history or score. Should i need mortgage from TD after a few years, would my holding on this cheqing account be benificial in any way ?
OR is it as simple as just closing the account whenever you want from which ever bank and it doesnt impact at all. I know closing old credit cards impact on credit but am not sure if old chequing account closure can harm me in any way ? Any advise ?
Thanks all !!

Bank accounts aren't reported to the credit bureaus (unless you go seriously delinquent on an overdraft, or something), so closing your chequing account shouldn't have any impact at all on your credit score.

Closing a bank account doesn't affect your credit scores.

Is this a chequing account with TD that gives you unlimited transactions if you maintain $1000 in it? If so, it's a grandfathered account (Preferred Chequing) and you'll never be able to open another one like it again. If it's just a Value account though it's no biggie.
