So i set up the account and linked up my rogers phone bill with the recurring bill payment on the online banking. called up coast capital asking if that's sufficient to receive the promo. the lady said yes and to call them again after my first bill payment goes through to receive further instructions to receive that 200 dollars.

When trying to open an account yes. Might've been my information with the credit bureau didn't match as my address changes frequently. Not worth digging into if it's going to be a pain for me
There's a mandatory credit bureau pull when you open an account at a credit union. If they detect any issues with your CB, you'll have to provide more info in person/by phone.

Wonder what the instructions will be..."sit there and wait for the $200"?

Did you talk to a rep or just self serve menu when you call in?

If you choose to cancel the account for whatever reason after you receive the 200 dollars how long do you have to wait to have the account open? Are they going to ask for that 200 dollars back if you choose to close the account?

Why and how to you deposit $200 to your new account. Also how do you for sure that you will get the bonus?
I sent myself an email money transfer and deposited it into my coast account

DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS!

Another member found this: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/coast-ca ... k-2153605/

I like the bank promos as much as everybody else and I made a few thousands since it started a few years ago, but I am not going to sell my personal info to US companies (where is capitalism at it's best and your info will get sold to everybody) just to get $200.

I'll wait for the next CIBC,TD,BMO,NB to get another few hundred.
Well, what does this really matter? They're going to see a credit of $200 as my initial deposit and then $60 monthly debits from telus, and then eventually a $200 credit, and then i'll close my account.

They can have that information if they want.

Erred out on me when trying to apply online. Called to find out what the issue was, apparently if you have a profile with them already ie cancelled account or no longer a union member with them you will have to open the account in person at the branch. This was for error code 1300.
Got this same error. Thanks for the explanation.
