Is Coke Zero here in Canada?

I recently went to the states for 2 weeks and I must say that coke Zero is a marked improvement in diet drinks.

I'm wondering if they have this in Canada? I can't find it at my local grocery store.

I liked it quite a bit too. It tasted like c2 ( way better than diet coke), but with no calories! Can any one confirm that it has no calories, I can't remember 100%.

From what I can see, Coca Cola Zero is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium, while Diet Coke (in the US) is sweetened with aspartame only. They claim Zero has a different taste than Diet Coke. By blending acesulfame potassium with aspartame, there is supposed to be a sweeter taste without the aftertaste normally attributed to artificial sweeteners.

In Canada, Diet Coke has been sweetened with the blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium for several years now. I first remember noticing it on a can of Diet 7Up in the summer of 1997. I am not sure if Canadian Diet Coke tastes any different from US Diet Coke because of this difference in sweeteners, but it is possible that Zero is the same formulation as the Diet Coke we have in Canada, as they use the same sweetener. Acesulfame potassium was only recently approved for use in drinks in the US.

All I know is that they sell diet coke with splenda right beside the coke zero so I assume them to be different.

Doh, I totally missed that post, I guess the big picture above it distracted me. Hmm, aspartame and some potassium thing? Scary. I'm still a little leery of the diet drinks.. at least sugar will just rot your teeth and make you fat
