Read the play. Then you will better ammo to argue with your teacher as to why Shakespeare is crap.

If you didn't already know it, Sparknotes is free online. http://www.sparknotes.com/shakespeare/lear/
They all have the same contents, so don't bother buying any._______________

This is a violation of the purpose of you're English Class!
You must read the book and absorp all the contents as that is the requried of the goverment!! You mustn't not not read the book and resort to the interweb to understand please read the book as that is what you are required to do be like me and only read the book and make your english suckier i dislike how the goverment emphasizes reading crap versus improving teh englis!

I just finished Othello
I think I did well, but shakespeare sucks. It honestly boggles my mind as to how they justify 4 years of english over 4 years of math. Should be 3 of one, 4 of the other, your choice. Especially considering you stop learning how to actually read/write/communicate around grade 10._______________

Here's a tip. Read sparksnotes to get an understanding of the plot/story.... read the actual book for reinforcement... to get all the details, quotes, character development etc.
Or the other way around, use the sparknotes for reinforcement if you want to disect the book.
Btw.
www.antistudy.com
It has the links to all the study* guide sites...
ie. Pinkmoney, Sparksnotes,Cliffnotes,Baron, etc.Last edited by CSR; May 9th, 2006 at 10:33 PM.

Spark Notes is pretty good. It isn't just for people who haven't read the material. It's good for reviewing before tests and making sure you understand all of the concepts.

If you don't want to read it, why not watch the movie? It shoudn't take as long as reading it. Then use stuff from sparknotes to do ur essay, assignment, wutever.

May 9th, 2006 11:11 PM #15no, your communication skills dont peak at 16, but on the reverse side, how much do they increase with the extra 2 years of learning? All I'm saying is that 12 english I dont think is absolutly necessary. On the reverse side, Taking the applied/easier level courses for 11/12 anglish are probably at par with taking only the acadmeic level 11 or 12 course. Balances out.
