Community Action - need ideas
Okay, I'm a candidate in a CBC contest, for which I must complete something for "community action". Examples given include having a local politician come speak to a group, organizing a food bank fundraiser, etc.
My plan was a food bank fundraiser. It didn't work, neither of the ones I contacted phoned me back. So, plan B was to go to schools and talk to students about a community organization that most people don't know of. Three want me to speak to the students, but in January.
Any ideas? The deadline is SATURDAY and I've been planning talking to students for a month, but the schools just said today (all of them) that it would be better done in January.

your probably SOL, but, you could ask a politician to talk at a homeless shelter or perhaps a school... who knows? They MAY do it.

Go to schools and teach kids about the power of saving and budgeting. Also refer them to this website. Or don't. We don't need more immature teens around here.

I spoke with the executive director of the organization, and mentioned an idea I had, and he likes it and wants it done by Saturday
