Sounds like the OP is overreacting and has high expectations of what he is entitled to when he enters FS. Good news is the store won't have the piano problem anymore by the sounds of it.
Also, not that it really matters, but you just told us you lied to the employee about buying the book, and then get offended when he calls you out on it?

OP is not only trolling us, he/she is trolling future shop employees in person looking for a reaction.
Why are you pulling the poor card when someone is telling you a retail store is not a piano school?Staff: “You can’t teach him piano here”. (Made me feel he judged me by my appearance that we are poor and could not afford a piano, so I used their piano to give my son piano lesson).
Seriously do we really need the other side? Usually someone posts their side to portray others in a negative light...in this case even if FS's side agreed with everything the OP said they'd still be right. We have one side of a story, we really have no idea how professional he was.
Anyways...we got a 1 post whodini act by a googler...not like the OP will ever be back._______________

It doesn't matter whether you own a piano and can afford lessons or not. Stores are there so that you can buy stuff. Demo products are there so that you can decide whether you like something big and expensive (pianos, mattresses, computers, cars etc.) and not have to spend a lot of cash on it and then bring it home and realize you don't want it. Yes, it's great that your kid is a piano genius and can finish a book in 15 minutes and it's hard to shop for him since he's just too good for kid books... but can you not see how it might seriously annoy a store manager if you go into a store, use a product fully and then leave? Especially when he knows ahead of time that this is what you're going to do since you do it all the time? It's like going into a bookstore every week just to read the new releases and never buying any. Again, FutureShop exists for giving money for an item and then taking that item home, that's it, that's all.
Quite honestly if I lived in Victoria I'd be pretty happy if you stopped going to stores, because I'm sick of going to do some actual shopping and having to deal with people who think a store is a great place to have a family outing and spend quality time with the kids.LOG IN TO THANK 2 people have thanked Manatus for this post.

I know I'd be pretty damn annoyed if I were a FS employee and some idiot decided to play an entire book of music on the demo pianos (especially if it was at full volume) with no intention to buy. OP and his son would get kicked out of the store in a heartbeat.
Bringing the kid to a FS and have him play there in order to "keep him interested in instruments and music" is the funniest thing I've read all week._______________

I think the point OP trying to make was not about whether he/she were doing in the store is right, is rather about how the staff approached it and how it made he/she feel.
I agree that he/she should not let the son tied up to the piano for too long, but there is a polite and professional way for the staff to deal with it. If the conversion quote was accurate or close of being accurate, I'd be offended too.LOG IN TO THANK 2 people have thanked li___yan for this post.
