Complete Non-RFD Expensive Purchases
So we're all taking about deals on this site. Figured I'd mix it up. Any recent purchases that were expensive in comparative terms that you did because of quality or just to feel good? I'll start. Here's mine. I was looking for a new coffee table. We were out in St. Jacob's (Mennonite country). Bought a new coffee table and jelly cabinet. All really cool, made of 100 year old barn wood made by some hardcore Mennonite dude who doesn't even use electricity. Cost me over $2K, but it looks fantastic and a real conservation piece. Plus you could probably dance on it and not have it break. There's my splurge.

I don't think the Menonnite people would approve of the 'table dancing'.

Recently I bought a blender at Costco that was a bit more than a simmilar one at Walmart, but I paid more to get it at Costco where I knew they would stand behind it.
