If you plug in the computer and hit the start button and nothing happens (ie. fan doesn't cycle up) chances are your PSU is toast.

Computer HELP!! it won't turn on
Hi,
My computer has a problem where i would press the power button and it would not start. The last time i used it was 4 days ago today and i remembered last time i only started it up to check my address book that i stored in on microsoft word. I tried unplugging the power cord and replugging it in ... all that flashes was the keyboard the "cap-lock", "Num-lock" and the "Scroll lock" light.
thanks,
Chris

Hmmm, did you open your computer to see what happens when you're starting your computer. Look if the power button cord is plugged into your motherboard..
might be that simple. If nothing starts.... like danfromwaterloo said it is highly probable that your power supply is fryed! Either this or your motherboard has a problem.

ok .. i opened up the sides of my computer. I see a green light on the motherboard while the plug is in, if unplugged the light turns off. While the cover is off ... when i press the power button just the fan quickly start for like a second but not full spin and right away turns off after that second. and i checked for the power cable ... and it is connected to the motherboard. I don't think that would be the problem because i used it 4 days ago just find and i never touched it after ...
